Since starting at NewStream Enterprises, Tyler Hoskins has worn a few different hats. He began his NSE career as a material specialist in 2021. He then worked as a group leader in multiple departments before becoming the warehouse supervisor for single parts packaging in April 2024. Starting July 7, he’ll take on a new role as a materials buyer, and we couldn’t be more excited for him (and us)!
When asked about Tyler, Materials Manager Ryan Carrol said, “His commitment to the NewStream and the SRC ownership mentality and his exceptional work ethic have been invaluable. We are confident that Tyler’s skills and dedication will strengthen our team and drive success in his new role.”
In honor of his new position, we asked Tyler a series of questions. Read on to learn more about NSE’s newest materials buyer.
Describe something you worked on recently that you’re proud of.
It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve been working on talking in front of groups of people. When I first started having to speak in front of bigger groups, I had no confidence, and I had to really focus on what I needed to say. Now I am able to joke around in front of 15 plus people. I am able to find my place again when I mess up. Five years ago, I probably would have panicked and crumbled. Then with even larger groups, I have noticed significant improvement in my flow, and I have been able to focus more on how I present something instead of just what I need to say.
What’s your favorite part of working at NewStream?
It’s a fun environment. Even during the busy and chaotic moments, I still find myself joking around with other employees while we get business taken care of. Also, other employees care just as much as I care about the success of NSE.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Playing video games, watching NFL/NBA (I’m a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan), and working on cars. Here lately, I like to color with the kids and help my girlfriend with gardening.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack/dessert?
Blueberry Red Bull and sugar or maple donuts.
What’s a surprising/weird fact about you?
I have 11 brothers and sisters, but none of them are full blooded.
What’s something you’re excited about?
I am slowly building up tools and experience to possibly open my own mechanic shop in the future. Every year during tax season, we use our tax money to work on our cars, and I watch a lot of YouTube so I can fix the cars myself.
What is something about your new job you’re looking forward to?
I am excited to see the ins/outs of ordering parts and scheduling builds. I helped set up the builds and ship them, so now I’ll get to see the behind-the-scenes action of it.
