NewStream Enterprises is excited to announce that Quenton Shelton has joined our team as a sales trainee. In his new role he will support the sales and marketing team in a variety of ways. Quenton will assist with customer service, client satisfaction, sales prospecting, and more. We can’t wait to see the impact Quenton has at NSE.
In order to get to know our new sales trainee, we sat down with him for a Q&A. Read on to learn all about Quenton Shelton.
Tell us about what you did before joining the NewStream team?
My work history is very short. I have done small jobs like working at the firework stand or training kids for basketball, but NSE is my first real big job. I studied at Drury University, getting degrees in criminal justice and business administration. Along with studying at Drury, I also played basketball for the last five years.
What has been your favorite thing about working at NewStream so far?
One of my favorite things at NewStream was my first huddle. The passion everyone has to do well is truly something unique to see. I would put it like this, everyone is on a team, and we are all fighting for the same things.
Has there been anything surprising or unexpected about NewStream?
One of the things that surprised me is definitely the number of acronyms that we use. I feel like I am getting better at learning them, but there is still so much that I do not know.
Is there any work-related project you’re particularly excited about? Or is there a new skill you’re excited to learn?
One work-related activity I am excited to get into is to be able to run efficient reports without looking at the work instructions. My goal is to improve on everything I have learned so far, so hopefully one day it is second nature to me.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I have ever received would be “Don’t eat with the people you wouldn’t starve with.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time you will definitely catch me at the golf course. If I am not there then I am watching YouTube or spending time with my fiancée.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack or dessert?
My guilty pleasure snack is chocolate cheesecake.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
If I won the lottery, I would invest a lot in stocks and hopefully get fit for some new golf clubs.
Where’s the number one place on your travel bucket list?
My number one travel destination is Pebble Beach, and this is to play golf at all the surrounding courses.
Do you have a nickname?
My nickname most of my life has just been Q.
What’s a surprising or interesting fact about you?
Something interesting about me is that I am a forever long Texas Longhorn fan.
What’s a personal goal you have or are working towards?
I’m working to grow my connection base and build relations with people at work and all other aspects of my life.
If you could have dinner with any three people (living or dead), who would they be?
The three people I would have dinner with would be Scottie Scheffler, Quinn Ewers, and Xavier Worthy.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I would not say it is a hidden talent, but I can clap with one hand.
